Have you ever tried meditation? It’s a fantastic way to calm your mind, relax your body, and rejuvenate your entire system. Now, with the aid of an app, you can meditate almost anywhere. Have a few minutes to spare on your lunch break? Give one of these three meditation apps a try:
Stop, Breathe, & Think
The Stop, Breathe, & Think app features 34 free sessions, most of which clock in under 15 minutes. Every time you open the app, you “check in” with yourself by rating your mind and body, and listing five emotions you’re currently feeling. That’s how the app recommends different meditations and videos tailored precisely for your current state.
The great thing about Stop, Breathe & Think is that it keeps track of your meditations on its progress page. This feature allows you to see how your mind and body have improved over time, as well as what your most common emotions are before and after meditating.
Insight Timer is available for both iPhone and Android and has more than 5 million users around the world. That may be thanks to the huge library of content that this app boasts — there are almost 13,000 guided meditations from over 2,600 teachers. You’ll find information on relationships, stress, creativity, and more.
Insight Timer lets you pick from various teachers, and you can even follow the teachers to get their newest content right away. Or, you can listen to music or meditate to various soothing noises. There are several courses within Insight Timer that you must pay for, but many meditations in the collection are completely free.
The aptly-named Calm app was rated the 2017 App of the Year by Apple. While the app does encourage the user to subscribe for a fee, there are about 25 free offerings that range in length from a few minutes to a half-hour. You can also set a timer to meditate silently or listen to ambient noise or other sounds to help you relax. Plus, there are more than 100 free music tracks to listen to.
These are only a few examples of the many meditation apps that are out there. Try downloading one for yourself and see how much more focused, relaxed, and productive you can be! For more great tips on your personal wellness, visit Medical Professionals online.
